Elizabeth is a costume designer with experience in design and construction. She has a BA in Theatre Arts Studies Costume Design from Brigham Young University.

Meredith Wilson wrote this musical as his love letter to Iowa, stating in the note at the beginning of the script that it is a "Valentine not a caricature". The costumes were created with this in mind, referencing extant silhouettes, finding the humanity and reality of these characters.
